The 2016 edition of the African Economic Outlook, with special theme "Sustainable Cities and Structural Transformation", was launched during the African Development Bank Group's 51st Annual Meetings in Zambia. On June 3rd 2016 it was presented in Tunisia, during the 3rd Mediterranean International Meeting.
According to the report, North African countries showed an increase in average growth, following the improvement of the political and economic stability : 3.2% in 2015, against 1.4% in 2014. The report's economic forecast for Africa is based on the assumption that the price of oil and other commodities will stabilise and slowly recover. But given current low levels, average prices will still be lower in 2016 than in 2015, and will only increase in 2017.
